As a Full Stack Developer and Product Manager at 27estore, I led the development of the Quick Order Tool, a production-ready web application that allows customers to configure and order custom cabinet doors and wall panels in just a few steps. The tool replaced manual quoting with a streamlined, user-friendly process that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.

Fully Custom Front-End and Back-End Build

The application was developed from the ground up using a modern stack:

  • Next.js (App Router) for server-rendered pages and routing
  • React + TypeScript for structured components and strong type safety
  • Tailwind CSS for a consistent, responsive user interface
  • MongoDB for storing quote data and enabling persistent quote recall
  • React Query for efficient async state management and API communication

I also handled backend API development, session management, and integration with internal tools such as our Invoice Management System, which enables the sales team to convert submissions into formal invoices.

Mobile-First, Fully Responsive Interface

With a growing number of users on mobile, I prioritized a touch-optimized experience that preserved full functionality. Key features include:

  • Sliders and fractional controls for entering dimensions
  • Toggles and dropdowns for hinge boring and grain direction
  • Real-time pricing with visual panel previews
  • Tap-to-expand quote breakdowns and itemized reviews
  • Mobile-friendly quote saving and order submission flows

Simple Four-Step Workflow

  1. Launch from Product Page: Preloads the selected material directly into the tool
  2. Customize Product: Set dimensions, bore settings, grain direction, and quantity
  3. Save or Submit: Save your quote and receive an Order ID that allows you to return to your project anytime using just the ID and your email, no account required
  4. Receive Follow-Up: Sales team reviews the order and generates a formal invoice

Results

The Quick Order Tool greatly improved the quoting experience for both customers and our internal team. It reduced quote turnaround time from days to minutes, improved lead quality, and established a scalable base for future product customization tools.
